Our Pets

Yes, we have those family members that are strictly pets. We have a few 
of our pets on our "Family Page."   We have some shelties we kept exclusively for pets, and we also have a mini-dachshund and a rescue sheltie/?beagle mix. We love dogs. 


A Bit of Sheltie History

There is much mystery and myth in the origins of the Shetland Sheepdog or Sheltie breed. The Shetland Islands are a group of about 100, small, rugged islands 50 miles North of Scotland; many used only for pasture. The early inhabitants, the Picts, were overrun by Norsemen and then later also by the Scots. The three races of people intermingled as did their dogs to make the peoples and the dogs of the Shetland Islands. The modern day Shetland Sheepdog in the various countries throughout the world vary in their looks to a greater or lesser degree to the other Shelties throughout the world.
